As a varsity track and field athlete, I balance a demanding training schedule with engineering work. Sport has made disciplined preparation, recovery, and steady improvement feel natural.
About
The products and systems I care about most are the ones that matter beyond the drawing: they make work safer, movement easier, time better spent, or an experience possible.
Why engineering
Engineering gives me a way to take a vague need, learn what matters, and create something people can actually depend on. I am energized by work with a real purpose - projects where better design changes a task, a place, or someone's experience for the better.
That is why I am drawn to problems that require both ideas and follow-through. The most satisfying outcome is not a polished concept by itself; it is seeing a thoughtful solution become useful in someone else's hands.
02 / Off the job
It is where I have learned to commit, assess risk, solve practical problems, and enjoy the work of making something last.
As a varsity track and field athlete, I balance a demanding training schedule with engineering work. Sport has made disciplined preparation, recovery, and steady improvement feel natural.
Climbing, mountaineering, and wilderness travel have taught me to plan carefully, communicate clearly, and make sound decisions when conditions change. I hold a Wilderness First Responder certification.
From repairing guitars and forging metal to building a banister, climbing wall, and custom household pieces, I make to understand how things fit together and how they eventually fail.
Whether I am leading a maintenance project, organizing people, or working with a design team, I care about creating the conditions for good work: clear expectations, ownership, and trust.
